The Woman in Black

Having a slightly weak heart when it comes to scary movies is probably not ideal if you plan to see The Woman in Black. This "jump out of your skin" horror plays on what you don't see which is undeniably scarier than the conventional psycho-esque horror. You would expect Daniel Radcliffe to struggle outside the potter series and his edgy and frankly awkward acting suggest a flop but this style fits well with the genre. His face fits the part perfectly and suitably follows on from the potter series which slowly turned into a horror anyway. The story has been altered for the film and actually provides some catharsis for the audience, as opposed to Susan Hill's brutal book ending. However it doesn't really affect how the story goes, the audience are mostly there for the ride and it certainly puts you through one. Make sure you bring someone to hide behind!
